The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation is Growing A Better World through our mission of aligning our people, products and partnerships to help eliminate global hunger. The Kraft Heinz Company is committed to building an enduring legacy of good corporate citizenship in the communities where we operate. The company promotes employee volunteerism and has made an impact through strategic investments to address hunger and improve nutrition, both globally and in the areas where our employees live and work.
Established in 2001, The Kraft Heinz Company Micronutrient Campaign enhances access to nutritional supplements that promote healthy growth and development, especially in developing countries and regions. This humanitarian, nonprofit campaign is making a healthy difference in the world – one child at a time – with a focus on innovation and extending its global reach.
For more than a decade, the Micronutrient Campaign has sponsored the development and distribution of micronutrient powders that deliver essential vitamins, minerals and iron when stirred or mixed into children’s foods. These nutritious, easy-to-use powders are manufactured by The Kraft Heinz Company and have been proven effective in preventing and treating iron-deficiency anemia, and other vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
In 2013, the Micronutrient Campaign launched an exciting new partnership with Rise Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now), a Raleigh, N.C.-based nonprofit whose mission is to alleviate hunger in developing nations around the world. Through employee volunteerism at meal packaging events and the donation of micronutrient powders, The Kraft Heinz Company and its employees are affecting the lives of millions of children around the world.
As one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world, The Kraft Heinz Company supports a nationwide network of food banks through the hunger prevention initiatives of Feeding America. These initiatives include the National Produce Program, which identifies key strategies to introduce fresh produce into the emergency food system; the Healthy Food Bank Hub, which encourages good nutrition among Feeding America clients; and the Feeding Possibilities Program, which builds the capacity of its member food banks.
From the Lunchables Lunch Combinations partnership to employee volunteerism, The Kraft Heinz Company has supported Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) in their local communities through the years. In 2015, the Kraft Heinz Company Foundation announced an innovative new program called Kraft Great Futures Kitchen to help ensure youth and their families have access to food, nutrition and life skills. More than 4 million children benefit from the programs of the BGCA each year, and the Great Future Kitchen is helping them live and eat better by renovating Club kitchen facilities, providing youth and family cooking classes, establishing food bank partnerships and installing Club-based fruit and vegetable gardens. The program has provided funding for improvements to kitchens at 10 Club locations across the country. In addition to the Great Future Kitchen, The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation is a key supporter of BGCA’s national Food Security Initiative to strengthen and expand the impact of food service programming at thousands of Club locations in the U.S.
The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation recognizes people turn to us for help when disasters strike the communities in which we operate. Manmade and natural disasters can be devastating for our employees, neighbors, business partners and customers. We’re committed to responding promptly and appropriately so communities may return to normal as quickly as possible. Through cash contributions, product donations and the help of skilled employee volunteers, the Foundation demonstrates its concern for the community by offering our best resources during times of crisis.
The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation also partners with local food banks to address specific needs in the communities we serve. In addition to cash and product donations contributed to regional feeding programs, employees from The Kraft Heinz Company lead volunteer efforts year-round to ensure these local communities have ready access to fresh, healthy and affordable food.
As a socially responsible global food company, The Kraft Heinz Company is committed to reducing our environmental footprint and protecting the planet’s natural resources for future generations.
